  • Big News from The Ridge

I’m delighted to announce Book 2 in the Hearts of the Ridge Series: Heartsong Hills!  Those of you who have read Hometown know our heroine well: she’s Nora Beiler, Jonas Rishel’s sister.  At least, you think you know Nora.  Nora is a complicated character–in Book 1 she stands in the way of our heroine’s Happily Ever After.  In Heartsong Hills, you’ll absolutely become Team Nora and root so hard for her to find love.  Plus…our new hero is pretty darned dreamy. Here’s a little sneak preview: Nora Beiler remembers shelling peas on the front porch step. She remembers warm sunshine on her shoulders and the plunk each pea made when it landed in her mother’s yellowware bowl.…

  • Finding Inspiration in a Mood Board

Recently I spotted several authors posting mood boards or aesthetics for their books. The images were inspiring and evocative, and I knew right away I wanted to try my hand at making one. This post by Madeleine Bartson was a great jumping off point and has lots of terrific information and resources. I’ve always loved cutting beautiful pictures out of magazines and pasting them together in a collage. Digital collaging is in many ways just as fun, as the options for photos are seemingly unlimited, and you don’t end up with glue on your fingers! I found plenty of free images online (I used Canva to make mine) and even…

  • Hometown is Coming Soon

When all roads lead home…choosing one is far from simple  I’m so excited to announce that my debut novel and the first in the “Hearts of the Ridge” series is coming soon from The Wild Rose Press. While I hope to have a release date shortly, I do have a cover! I’ve given you just a teaser above–the color palette is gorgeous and so summery, just perfect for the steamy setting of the book. The background photo was taken near my hometown in Central PA–another big hint about the gorgeous backdrop to Tessa Meadows’ crazy summer in her hometown. With 14 inches of snow on the ground in NY and…
